Luanda – Angolan capital, Luanda, once again connects with the world in order to share knowledge about “technological modernization”, through its largest international forum for information, communication and innovation technologies.

This is the ANGOTIC forum, a global ICT (information and communication technology) event, which the city will host, from the 13th to the 15th of this month, for the fourth time in its history.

The forum has been organized and promoted by the Angolan Government, since 2018, through the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), repeating itself in 2019 and 2023.

Between 2020 and 2021, the event experienced a “pause” imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, which led to the systematic suspension of activities in almost all sectors.

The current edition (2024), taking place under the motto "Digitize, connect and innovate", naturally has the challenge of surpassing the previous ones, especially in terms of attendence, both internally and abroad.

Seeking to welcome at least 15,000 participants and cover as many actors as possible in the chain, focusing on the connection or closer relationship between the real and the digital world is one of the tasks “assigned” to Luanda in the coming days.

The event aims to promote debate around current, global and future ICT themes, facilitate networking for government entities, exhibitors, experts, industry actors, as well as emerging mobile service providers, and will present innovations and trends in the sector.

The organizers of this technological showcase hopes to bring together five thousand more people compared to the previous edition (2023), which has, until then, the maximum number of participants (10 thousand), after around five thousand in 2018, and eight thousand more the following year, in 2019.

In addition to the 10,000 participants, the last ANGOTIC brought together around 100 startups and more than 100 companies representing 21 countries, attracting the attention of more than eight thousand visitors over three days.

As for startup creators, the previous record has already been surpassed, as 120 actors are registered for this forum, and the number is expected to increase until the event's kick off, this Thursday, the 13th.

With an area of around 40 square kilometers, the municipality of Talatona, known for its development and urbanization, is the territorial extension of the province chosen as the stage for the event, bringing together in its Convention Center several companies linked to the technological world, as well as a venue for exhibitions.

Luanda is the most populous province in the country with aproximately 9.5 million inhabitants.
