Luanda – Seven companies were recently selected in an electronic public tender to import 250k tons of fertilizers, to support the 2024/25 agricultural campaign.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, 36 companies, both national and international, participated in the public tender on June 25th, selected by business organizations that complied with the formal requirements established in the procedure list and presented the best price, 67.3% lower than the 2023 reference.
In a note, sent this Monday to ANGOP, the ministerial department states that the average price per ton, in 2023, was set at US$932.97, while the 7 selected companies present US$205 per ton, as the lowest price of reference for imports, saving the Angolan State USD 627.97 per ton, when compared to the previous year.
The document highlights that of the total import quota for the tender of 250k tons, 180k tons were distributed to sellers, with a remaining quota available of 75k tons, of which 70k tons of NPK 12-24-12 and 5k tons of urea.
