Ondjiva - The deputy coordinator of the National Economic Inspection and Food Safety Authority (ANIESA) in Cunene, Belarmino Tumbuleni, on Thursday urged traders in Ondjiva to prioritize health and food hygiene during business.
Speaking to ANGOP on trade offences in the region, the ANIESA official stressed the need for traders to avoid practices that harm consumers, so as to keep the population safe.
Among the main infringements, he pointed to the storage of foodstuffs in unsuitable conditions,lack of hygiene, product labeling, false commercial permit or license, as well as a calculation map.
He said that in the first half of this year ANIESA recorded 10 offences, two of which resulted in fines, with 266,000 kwanzas collected, while one establishment was closed due to serious violations.
