Luanda - The National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC)´s CEO , Amélia Kuvíngua, said that the certification process for Catumbela International Airport, in the coastal Benguela Province, could be finalised this year.
She was speaking on Thursday, in Luanda, during a press conference on the start of passenger flights from Dr António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN), scheduled for Sunday, November 10.
She explained that the necessary steps for the certification of Catumbela Airport are currently being taken by the Airport Management Company (SGA).
This process, she clarified, has five phases to be completed, similar to the exercise carried out with AIAAN.
If this happens, Angola will now have three certified international airports, after 4 de Fevereiro and Dr António Agostinho Neto.
The press conference were also attended by the chairpersons of the boards of directors of the Airport Temporary Operator (ATO), António Pombal; of the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT), Énio Costa; and of the Luanda Urban Collective Transport Company (TCUL), Nelson Jorge.
The CEO of Luanda Railway (CFL), Manuel Kandakanda, and the CEO of Angola Airlines (TAAG), Nelson Oliveira, were also part of the meeting.
The occasion was preceded by the formal handing over of certification for national and international passenger flights to Dr António Agostinho Neto International Airport by the Board of Directors of the National Civil Aviation Authority. ACC/QCB/VC/DAN/jmc
