Luanda - The 2024 General Population and Housing Census (RGPH - CENSO 2024) will make it possible to identify priority investment areas, with relevant indicators for the country's economic and social life, the Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, Francisco Furtado, said Wednesday .
Speaking at the opening of the seminar for the provincial commission for the General Population and Housing Census, the official said the indicators include the public and private sectors, with emphasis on health, education, housing, energy, transport, commercial infrastructure and services.
Francisco Furtado added that the 2024 CENSUS is expected to reveal and update valuable indicators to improve governance.
According to the official, the Census is currently completing its second stage, which consists of updating the country's entire census map, with the provinces of Bengo, Cabinda, Cuanza Norte and Lunda Sul having finalized it, with over 73% of the map already updated throughout the country.
Training seminar for the Coordinators of the Provincial Commissions to Support the 2024 Census is taking place in Luanda, with the participation of provincial governors and deputy governors.
Available data indicates that the Census Commission expects to register 35 million inhabitants in Angola in the second census.HM/AC/DAN/AMP
