Cazenga - At least 3,700 vendors from the Kwanzas market, in the municipality of Cazenga, in Luanda Province, on Tuesday were encouraged to interact with census agents, during the process of the General Population and Housing Census ( RGPH) 2024, which starts on the 19th of the current month.
The awareness campaign, which covered 90% of the women sellers at this market, was carried out using megaphones, allowing buyers and residents from the market's surroundings to be mobilized.
Regarding this action, the administrator of the Kwanzas market, José Luamba, said that for general population statistics it is necessary that the task of awareness, mobilization and civic education be carried out with the involvement of the entire society, to facilitate the dissemination of message about the General Population and Housing Census in the national territory.
The chairman of the council of residents of the "Tunga-Ngô" neighborhood, Guilhermina Segunda, said that the conditions had been created for families to provide credible information about the census, because the message had been passed on how the process would take place.
She added that residents' committees continue to raise awareness among skeptical people so that they are available to receive census takers in their homes, taking into account the importance of the census process for the country.
According to the source, Cazenga dwellers showed readiness and mobilized to be at at home on Census Day and collaborate with the census agents.
Cazenga is one of the nine municipalities in the province of Luanda. It has the urban districts of Tala-Hadi, Cazenga Popular, Hoji Ya Henda, Calawenda and 11 de Novembro.
