Census/2024: INE starts recruitment process for more than 79 thousand agents

Luanda - The National Institute of Statistics (INE) started, on Wednesday (22), the recruitment process of 79,423 field agents, to carry out the General Census of Population and Housing (RGPH) 2024, taking place from July to August, in the 18 provinces of Angola.

The application process takes place from the 22nd to the 27th of this month, to select 67,131 enumerators and 12,292 data collection supervisors, according to a note to which ANGOP had access today.

Of the total number of agents needed, the province of Huíla stands out, as it is the location that will need the largest number of enumerators (7,642 agents), while Cuanza-Sul will recruit 7,462.

In the same vein, the province of Huambo will have 7,390 agents, Benguela, with 6,108, Bié (5,423), Uíge (4,631), Malanje (3,097), Luanda (2,185), Lunda-Norte (2,934), Moxico (2,540), Cuando Cubango (2,114), Cunene (2,058), Cabinda (1,591), Zaire (1,386), Cuanza-Norte (1,384), Bengo (1,260), Lunda-Sul (1,165) and Namibe (1,053).

For this purpose, for six days, interested parties must submit their applications through the INE portal https:recrutamentocenso2024.ine.ao, where they must attach a copy of the identity card, two passport-size photographs and the IBAN, with high school or pre-university education as a minimum requirement.

Proficiency in the local or regional language and information technology are also among the requirements for candidates, who must apply for registration in areas close to their respective residences.

This recruitment follows the recent completion of the process of updating the cartographic network, which allowed the registration of five million and 565 family dwellings, 23 thousand and 410 collective dwellings, as well as 145 thousand services and 32 thousand villages in the country.

Under the motto 'Together we count for Angola', the General Census of Population and Housing, to be carried out throughout the country, will also produce 20 thematic reports, according to INE.

This is the third census in Angola's history, the first being carried out in 1970, five years before National Independence, proclaimed on November 11, 1975, while the second took place in 2014.

According to the final results of the 2014 Census, the total resident population in Angola was 25 million and 789 thousand and 24 people, of which 12 million 499 thousand and 41 were males (48% of the total population) and 13 million 289 thousand and 983 were females (52%).

As for housing, the previous census recorded five million 544 thousand and 834 dwellings. OPF/QCB/DOJ
