Luanda - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Angola (CCIA) called, this Tuesday, on tour operators to promote the country's potential, at the Havana International Tourism Fair – FITCuba-2024.
According to the president of the Organization, Vicente Soares, the event, which takes place from the 2nd to the 5th of May, is an opportunity to promote what has been done in Angola, in a generic way, and its tourist, gastronomic and cultural potential.
Speaking to the press, at the launch of the Havana International Tourism Fair, he reinforced that relations between both country's people are strong, “because a large number of Angolans studied in Cuba and have been in Angola for a long time and now want to re-live Cuba, open a business and invite Cuban businesspeople to come to Angola and do their business”.
According to the president, FITCuba-2024 will increase trade ties between the two countries.
For his part, the Cuban ambassador to Angola, Oscar León Gonzáles, announced that the event will be a valuable opportunity for exchange with government authorities, tour operators, travel agencies, airlines and companies linked to the tourism sector.
He recalled that, to give you an idea of the scale of this year's event, the 2023 edition was attended by more than 3,000 participants from 41 countries.
Oscar León Gonzáles said that the tourism industry in Cuba has developed rapidly over the last 30 years, with the construction of a network of hotel facilities, sector infrastructure, expansion of air links between Cuba and the rest of the world, training of human resources and increased visitor arrivals, with the associated financial revenues.
The launching ceremony of the Havana International Tourism Fair – FITCuba-2024 in Angola was promoted, within the scope of the existing Cooperation Protocol between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Angola and the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba, with the aim of capturing the investment interest of both countries and the establishment of possible partnerships in the respective sector, through direct contacts between businesspeople from the most diverse countries interested in participating at the event.
