Calumbo - Authorities from the municipal administration of Calumbo, in the province of Icolo e Bengo, met with aggregate material explorers from the area, on Tuesday (March 11), with the aim of raising awareness about the need to get licensed for the activity and avoid illegal exploration.
According to a press release that ANGOP has had access to, during the meeting, the Calumbo municipal administrator, Miguel de Almeida, warned the businesspeople to legalise their activity and respect the environment, in order to avoid any problems with the law.
According to the report, the miners praised the meeting and committed to acting within the framework of the law from now on.
It should be recalled that during the first community consultation meeting, that the municipal administration held recently, the administrator pledged a relentless monitoring of illegal explorers of aggregate material, which causes a strong negative impact on the environment.
