Luanda – The Novagrolíder Company, one of the leading firms in agricultural production in Angola, is currently in the negotiation phase for the export of the country’s coffee to Russia, after reaching markets in Portugal, Spain, Italy and Turkey, the company's partner-manager José Macedo told ANGOP.
According to the businessman, contacts are being made to expand the sale of coffee produced in the municipality of Quibala (Cuanza-Sul) to the Russian market.
"We have two containers in the pipeline, with the possibility of being exported to the Russian market, taking advantage of the scarcity of this product on the international market, as a result of little global production", he highlighted.
Marcedo, who did not disclose a date or quantity of the product to be exported, said the company also intends to enter the South African and Zimbabwean market, after having reached the Italian market this year and Turkey at the end of last year.
According to José Macedo, with the entry of Angolan coffee into the Russian market, Novagrolíder hopes to strengthen its position as a leader in the export of "Made in Angola", contributing to the country's economic development and promoting the quality of the national products to the world.
He added that, despite facing climate challenges, the company remains committed to the quality and expansion of its exports, taking the “authentic taste of Angolan coffee” to new markets around the world.
With close to 4 thousand workers, in the agricultural, livestock and industrial segments, the company produces more than 60,000 tons of fruit annually, with bananas being the main export product. It also grows mango, melon, watermelon, pineapple, papaya, papaya, passion fruit and guava.QCB/CF/AMP
