Cabinda - The works at the Cabinda Deep Water Terminal are approximately 45% completion and 88% financially available, its operations director, Jacob Nhunge said.

The manager who was speaking on the occasion of a visit to the terminal recently by a group of 50 members of civil society, to whom he assured the normal course of work involving 1,039 workers, 85% of whom were local young people.

He referred, among other areas, to the dredging service of the maritime channel, whose sand extracted from there is used to build the “platform” that will receive the terminal's superstructure, as well as the buildings in the operational area and other support segments.

Valued at $831,994,725.75 US, the construction of the infrastructure, for more than three years, has been carried out by a Chinese construction company.

With two kilometers of access, the structure includes, among several spaces, a terminal measuring 400 meters wide and with a draft of 15.5 meters deep to receive two large ships simultaneously.

Located in Caio costal Litoral, its construction has three phases, the first of which, scheduled for completion in April this year, consists of the implementation of port infrastructures and a cargo services area of 100 hectares.

In addition to the Caio Deep Water Terminal, members of civil society visited the works of the future Cabinda international airport and the Maritime Passenger Terminal. ING/JFC/VC/CF/DOJ
