Luanda - The National Bank of Angola (BNA) is collecting, based on a survey, information on the impact of Covid-19 on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
With this initiative, as with other surveys already carried out, the BNA wants to obtain information on the productive and commercial activity of companies in order to assist their action and decision making.
According to a note from the BNA Communication Department to which Angop had access, small and medium-sized companies in Angola are grouped into different sectors of economic activity, namely agriculture, animal production, hunting, forestry and fishing, manufacturing, construction, transport and storage, commerce, education, accommodation and restaurants, communication, information, among others.
This time, for the Central Bank, there is an urgent need to establish mechanisms to monitor the financial system and their economic activity, with a view to foreseeing and dealing with adverse situations calmly and in a timely manner in the current context.
The survey reported online is monthly and goes up to the 15th day of the following month and is based on a "quick response" questionnaire, on turnover, the number of workers, the use of support instruments created by the Government, the availability of liquidity and resort to credit.
