Luanda - Bank transactions, carried out on Friday and Saturday morning, will have the money reflected in the beneficiaries' bank accounts in the following day, through the 24/7 Real Time Payment System (SPTR), the National Bank of Angola (BNA) announced today.
The note, published on the BNA website, confirms that the transfers to be reflected are from branches and remote channels (mobile and internet banking) of the banks.
In the document, the BNA explains that in October 2022 the first phase of the 24/7 Real-Time Payment System (SPTR) went into production, which allowed beneficiaries of transfer operations and payments made using a Multicaixa debit card, the amounts relating to those operations will now be reflected in their bank accounts on the next day.
On January 13, 2024, the second phase of the project went into production, which allowed beneficiaries to make transfers on Friday and Saturday mornings, via branches and remote channels (mobile and internet.
The modernization of the Angolan Payment System (SPA), driven by the dynamics of new payment services, has assumed increasing importance in the daily lives of citizens and economic agents, through the provision of innovative financial products and services.
The Central Bank points out that, in this context, the National Bank of Angola initiated a set of actions, in coordination with the Interbank Services Company (EMIS) and Commercial Banks, with a view to increasing the credibility, effectiveness and convenience of payments, with emphasis on making funds available in beneficiaries' accounts on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.HM/AC/DOJ
