Caxito – The 10th edition of banana fair in the province of Bengo is scheduled for 26th to the 28th of this month, at the Panguila market.
Promoted by the provincial government of Bengo, the largest business exchange will take place under the motto “Banana production at the forefront of economic diversification and food self-sufficiency”.
In this edition, approximately 450 tons of various products are expected to be exhibited, with emphasis on bananas.
The organizing committee hopes to bring together 500 national and foreign exhibitors, including agricultural associations and cooperatives and machinery and equipment companies involved in the agricultural production chain.
So far, the participation of the provinces of Zaire, Uige, Cuanza-Norte and Luanda has been confirmed.
“The idea this year is to exceed the turnover of one hundred million Kwanzas, because we intend to surpass previous editions and we are working towards this”, said, in a press conference, the vice-governor for the political, social and economic sector, José Francisco Bartolomeu Pedro.
He recalled that the banana fair is a space where producers present their potential, establishing business partnerships and exchanging experiences.
The Banana Fair is an initiative of the Government of Bengo that began to be held in 2012, with the aim of promoting the province. CJ/IF/TED/DOJ
