Lubango – Sol bank suffered a cyber attack and the confirmation of the system invasion was made by the bank´s management today, Friday, in Luanda, in a press release, who assured the integrity of customers data.
The problem occurred a fortnight ago, nationwide, and after analysing the system, the bank ruled out problems with customers data.
In the press release sent to ANGOP, the Angolan bank noted that, “because it was equipped with defence tools against cyber threats, it was possible to prevent the central banking system from being affected, ensuring the normal operation of systems and customer service”.
The note informs that Banco Sol (Sol Bank) regrets the inconvenience that this situation may have caused some customers, but assures that the security of personal and financial information is its main priority.
Despite reports of a similar situation with Angolan counterparts, with the exception of Banco Sol, no other bank has officially confirmed similar occurrence.
