Luanda – Banco Caixa Angola (BCA) bank this Thursday became the second Angolan banking institution to enter the Angola Debt and Securities Exchange (BODIVA) market, with the public offering of 25% of its capital.

For this offer, 20 million shares are available with a unit value of 5 thousand kwanzas and are addressed to the general public in two lots, with 17% for shareholders and employees and the remaining 8% for free sale. The 25% result from the decision of the national oil company, Sonangol, to sell its stake in this bank.

At the end of the sale, the issuer expects to raise around 100 billion kwanzas.

Today, at the official launch at BODIVA, the institution’s Chairman of the Executive Board (PCE), Walter Pacheco, clarified that the State, through Sonangol, sold in two direct tranches, to the previous shareholders and to workers, for a value of less than five thousand.

For the manager, this is a symbolic moment for BODIVA and for the country.

The PCE added that there are only three companies left to set up a stock market index and many companies have been preparing to enter the national stock market.

The head of the Institute of Management of State Assets and Participations (IGAPE), Patrício Vilar, considered that the launch of Banco Caixa Angola on the stock market as an alternative source of financing for the business sector.

Patrício Vilar announced other companies to be privatized soon.

On his turn, the executive chairman of Banco Caixa Angola, João Manuel Plácido Pires, considers the Angolan financial market to be promising.

The event called Opening Bell, was chaired by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Junior, assisted by the Minister of Finance, Vera Daves.
