Luanda –The Angolan Investment Bank (BAI) on Wednesday in Luanda, made 3.1 billion kwanzas available for financing social responsibility actions, the company's CEO, Luís Lélis said.
Speaking at the Forbes Angola Social Responsibility Award 2024 gala, the bank´s manager through a press release ANGOP had access to on Thursday, said that the main objective is to fund projects with impact on education, health, well-being, culture, sports and environment.
In addition to the aforementioned objectives, it also aims to support the BAI Foundation scholarship which benefits around 800 scholarship holders at the Higher Institute of Administration and Finance (ISAF).
Luís Lélis also highlighted the Osivambi Village Project, in the province of Cunene, where around 500 young people have the opportunity to take classes from basic education to second cycle education.
The manager stressed that BAI's social responsibility program aims to transform generations and hopes that the young people who benefit from the institution's projects will contribute to the country's development.
He revealed that the bank´s shareholders approved an annual financial support of 1% of the net banking product from the previous year for the social responsibility actions.
At the Forbes Angola/2024 Social Responsibility Awards gala, Angolan Investment Bank received an Honorable Mention.
