Luanda - The Angolan civil aviation sector recently received, in the city of Cairo (Egypt), the service provider of the year 2023 award, granted by the African Airlines Association (AFRAA), for improving its performance in the aforementioned period.
According to a press release from the Embassy of Angola in Egypt, to which ANGOP had access, the distinction took place on Sunday and also includes the quality of ENANA's service and the opening of the Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN), which new advantages for the sector.
The activity took place within the scope of the AFRAA 56th annual General Assembly, in Cairo, in which Angola was represented by the secretary of State for the Civil Aviation, Maritime and Port sectors, Rui Carreira, who received the award (a statuette symbol of the Association of African Airlines), presented by Zaki El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation of Egypt.
On the other hand, the document indicates the holding of a meeting between the secretary of State and the Angolan ambassador to Egypt, Nelson Cosme, to whom he presented the award, whose diplomat considers to be a sign of the image that Angola continues to be a country in progress, and a recognition that offers advantages to the country, mainly in the field of tourism.
Regarding the advantages, the secretary of State mentioned to the planned signing of bilateral agreements, still in November, with different African countries, including Egypt, on the sidelines of the 35th ordinary plenary session of the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), and the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Yamoussoukro Decision (YD), taking place from the 26th to the 29th of this month, in the Republic of Congo.
AFRAA annually distinguishes different airlines, in recognition of the services provided, including the opening of new routes, better financial and operational performance.
