Luanda - The head of the market studies and monitoring department of the Competition Regulatory Authority (ARC), Guy Kialanda, has defended the need for economics students, in particular, to focus on scientific research that essentially portrays the Angolan reality.
Kialanda, who was speaking at the official presentation of the 3rd edition of the Prize for the Promotion of Competition, said that internally there is still a shortage of scientific work on regulation and competition in Angola.
He called for greater engagement from universities, with support for students.
As for the competition prize, Kialanda said registration are open since March and will run until September and that those interested should submit their articles on the ARC website to take part in the competition, which aims to publicize economic competition.
Aimed at students in higher education, enrolled from the 3rd year onwards, the prize, which can be awarded individually or as a group and includes students from management and administration courses, as long as they have subjects related to competition and economic regulation on their syllabus.
The winner to be announced in December will receive a one million kwanzas prize, a certificate of merit and a professional internship at ARC, while 2nd and 3rd place will receive a certificate of merit.
The first edition was held in 2021, and the second in 2022. ML/QCB/MRA/AMP
