Luanda - The Association of Autochthonous Companies for the Angolan Oil Industry (ASSEA), has made at least 200 places available for paid professional internships in the oil sector as a result of a partnership agreement signed with the National Institute for Employment and Professional Training (INEFOP).
The partnership between the two institutions, signed during the weekend in Luanda Province, is aimed at final year students on technical-vocational courses, with a view to promoting the professional development and qualification of young Angolans, especially women who have recently graduated in the oil sector, according to a press release ANGOP had access.
According to the document, the chairwoman of ASSEA, Berta Issa, said that the initiative is part of the "ASSEA UBUNTU" programme, with the aim of developing human capital in Angola.
"ASSEA is committed to contributing to the development of national talent, with the aim of transforming the landscape of the oil industry in Angola and promoting a more inclusive and diverse environment”, she emphasized.
The official hoped that the partnership would bring significant benefits, both for the training and employability of young people and for the advancement of local content.
On the other hand, the director-general of the National Institute for Employment and Professional Training (INEFOP), Manuel Mbangui, stressed the importance of the agreement signed, explaining that future trainees will have the opportunity to interpret good practices of the oil industry.
"We want to consolidate the whole learning process that they have accumulated throughout their lives, as well as finding a different reality that can somehow catapult them into the labour market," she stressed.
The association which was created in 2019 with more than 80 associated companies, have the mission to promote, foster and develop Gross Domestic Product growth (GDP) through the application of local content legislation and the active involvement of national companies in the oil sector as the main lever for diversifying the Angolan economy and strengthening the national business community.
