Luanda - The director of the Competition Regulatory Authority (ARC), Nelson Lembe, said Thursday in Luanda that the institution aims to promote more training actions to disseminate the culture of competition to enable greater competitiveness among companies in the country.

Speaking at the methodological workshop on Competition Policy in Angola, promoted by ARC, in partnership with the Association of Economic Journalists of Angola (AJECO), Lembe said the transmission of knowledge permits greater innovation, price reductions and strengthens the supply of goods and services on the market.

He stressed that activities to promote competition are more inclusive and effusive when they focus on academics, business associations and the media.

Nelson Lembe added that staff training creates multiplier effects in terms of the dissemination of good practices and information that has an impact on the economy.

As regards the methodological workshop, he said the initiative is part of actions to promote competition, disseminate the culture of this practice in the country's markets and common economy.

The ARC director said the existence of a range of choices for consumers to purchase goods and services promotes competition and the quality of products on the market.

Established on December 21, 2018, the Competition Regulatory Authority is supervised by the Finance Ministry, tasked with the mission of ensuring compliance and respect for the rules of competition through a participatory and inclusive administration of private individuals.

The ARC's activities cover all economic activities, whether temporary or permanent, carried out in Angolan territory or which produce or may produce effects there, under the terms of articles 2 and 4 of Law no. 5/18 of May 10. HM/QCB/AMP
