Mbanza-Kongo – At least 2.730 liters of fuel that was destined to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were seized on Monday, by the customs tax police, in the municipality of Soyo, province of Zaire.
This is a diesel and gasoline product that was being transported on a craft-made vessel, whose owners fled.
According to the spokesperson for the provincial delegation of the Ministry of the Interior, Sérgio Afonso, who provided the information to the press, the fuel was seized following a patrol carried out in one of the channels of the Zaire River.
He added that the product was packaged in 156 containers (drums) of 25 and 30 liters each.
Sérgio Afonso said that, after complying with legal procedures, the seized fuel was handed over to the Soyo Customs delegation of the 1st Tax Region.
