The seizure of the fuel is the result of an ongoing micro-operation in the province, which aims to combat smuggling, illegal immigration, illegal exploration and trafficking of diamonds, human beings and the confiscation of public goods.
ANGOP had access, on Friday, to a note from the Interior Delegation in Lunda-Norte, which clarifies that the fuel, stored in 25-liter drums, was being transported on three-wheel motorbikes and private vehicles.
Of the 112,500 liters, 79,336 are diesel and 33,255 are gasoline.
Without specifying the number of citizens involved in the crime, the note adds that the fuel will be included in the criminal case against the alleged smugglers.
During the operation, the note continues, 684 foreign citizens of the DRC were detained, including 78 children, for illegally entering and staying in the national territory.
After administrative procedures, the citizens were repatriated to their country of origin through the Chitato, Cambulo, Lóvua, Cuango and Caungula border posts. JV/HD/DOJ
