ANPG works to maintain stabilization of oil production

Luanda - The National Oil and Gas Agency (ANPG) is working to maintain the stabilization of production of 1.10 million barrels of oil/day, recorded in 2023, in Angola, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of this operation, Paulino Jerónimo, assured, on Monday, in Luanda Province.

Speaking at the meeting called “Breakfast with journalists”, the manager said that the agency is also focused on increasing oil production, as well as completing the execution of the Exploration Strategy 2020-2025 and the Attribution of Petroleum Concessions 2019-2025.

He pointed out the projects in production “Sanha Mafumeira”, “CLOV Phase 3”, “Ndungu“, “Agogo Integrado ao Pólo Oeste”, “Ndola Sul”, “Kaminho”, “Begónia” and “Infills do Grande Plutónio” as those that must contribute to maintaining the production level above one million barrels per day, adding that ANPG is also working to increase gas production, planning to reach over one million thousand cubic metres by 2027, compared to the 664 produced in 2023.

The official recalled that the New Gas Consortium was created and is in the final stages of installing its platform for the “Sanha Lean Gas Connection” project, to supply gas to the Angola LNG factory.

To this end, he said that it is planned to implement a plan for sharing resources, standardization, maintenance and integrity to improve oil industry operational efficiency.

Paulino Jerónimo also mentioned that the process of drafting a regulatory framework is underway of training to make exploration activities faster and implementing the actions of the competitiveness study.

He said that the intention is to implement policies that aim to develop human capital and guarantee the professional career of the workforce.

Regarding the performance of activities over recent years, the CEO of the company recalled that, in terms of social responsibility, 132 of the 192 planned projects were completed, valued at around USD 150 million.

In relation to the 2019-2024 oil and gas production profile, Paulino Jerónimo reinforces that there are actions to intensify measures to improve operational efficiency above 90% (standards, technical regulations and inspection procedures), maintenance of an average of 10 rigs drilling, as well as the redevelopment of blocks 0, 2/05, 3/05, 14, 15, 17, 18 and 31, respectively.
