Luanda – The Angolan government in partnership with oil companies plans to recover part of the 767 inactive oil wells of the country, a total of 1,634 oil fields, the executive director of the National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG), Ana Miala, said Monday in Luanda Province.
The official who was speaking at the event called “Breakfast with journalists”, added that the number of wells that were found to be inactive represents 45% of the total existing in the country that are closed due to mechanical and other problems.
“We are in the phase of reevaluating the closed wells with partners”, she assured.
According to the administrator, there are conditions for investment in the country's oil sector, and one of the projects that is in the approval phase is incremental production, which will allow operators to increase investments, aiming to maximize production from concessions that are already in place.
She disclose also the possibility to create new partnership between the State and the group to invest in order for the investment to be done in the concession, especially in the inactive wells so it can be recovered in less time.
