Luanda - Angola's participation in the 39th edition of the “Expo Trade Indonesia” fair taking place in the Asian country from October 9 to 13 is being marked by the presence of a delegation of young Angolan businesspeople linked to the agricultural sector, with a view to continuing to strengthen economic relations between the two countries.
This is the first Angolan business mission to take part in the event, an initiative of the Indonesian honorary consulate in Angola, in partnership with the Angola-Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Angonesia) and the Angola-Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Multilateral Investment (CCIMAI).
With the participation of more than 1,460 exhibitors and 7,000 international buyers, the fair expects to reach a turnover of around 15 billion US dollars, according to a press release to which ANGOP had access Friday.
According to the statement, the inaugural session of the expo was held by the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, attended by the Angolan ambassador to Indonesia, Florêncio de Almeida.
The fair, which is being held in Tangerang, is focused on expanding exports and attracting foreign investors to meet the challenges of global trade.
During the event, participants are having business meetings with the main Indonesian companies in different areas, with emphasis on agribusiness, fish processing, textiles, manufacturing, education and teaching, information technology and tourism.
Trade between Angola and Indonesia in 2022 amounted to more than a billion US dollars, with a favorable balance for Angola with exports of more than 900 million US dollars.
In contrast, Indonesia exported around 390 million dollars to Angola, with palm oil, soap and soybean oil standing out. QCB/TED/AMP
