Luanda - An Angolan delegation led by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, arrived in Zurich on Saturday to participate in the 55th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, which will be held in Davos, Swiss Confederation, from January 20 to 24
According to a release from the Angolan Embassy in this European country, the event, to run under the theme "Collaboration for the Smart Era", will bring together some 3,000 participants, including heads of state and government, business leaders and international organizations, representatives of civil society, academics and the cultural sector.
The Davos meeting aims to propose external solutions for the future and address the most pressing global challenges through public and private cooperation.
The Angolan Minister will participate in the workshop on "Investing in Critical Minerals Value Chains", as well as in the special interventions plenary, which will be addressed by the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa.
José de Lima Massano will participate in the Forum of Friends of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA) on "Transforming Digital Commerce into a Catalyst for Growth in Africa", with the aim of contributing to the implementation of the AFCFTA through public-private partnerships.
The program also includes bilateral meetings with CEOs of several companies, notably Trafigura, Citigroup, De Beers, Standard Chartered Bank and Menzies Aviation.
