Icolo and Bengo - Angola will participate in the 14th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), taking place from the 16th to the 17th of this month, in the United Arab Emirates, to discuss strategies to boost the transition to a cleaner and more sustainable energy matrix.
The meeting, which brings together global leaders and energy decision-makers, is to address several issues linked to renewable energy, chart a strategic path forward in all countries, regions and the world.
According to a press release that ANGOP has had access to, member states will discuss policies, strategies and projects to boost the transition to a cleaner and more sustainable energy matrix.
The meeting, in which Angola is represented by the minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, will delve deeper into the theme "result of COP28, infrastructures, policies and skills to triple Renewable Energy and Accelerate the Energy Transition".
The work program also includes addressing topics such as "emerging technologies", "investments", "regulatory policies" and "international cooperation to face the challenges of the energy transition", according to the note.
