Norwegian ship starts scientific cruise this Sunday

Luanda - Russian specialists will, in the near future, carry out scientific research in the exclusive economic zones of Angola, as part of an expedition of ships from this European country to the African continent.

According to a note to which ANGOP had access, Thursday, the Russian research ships Atlantniro and Atlântida have already departed from the Kaliningrad region, in the Baltic Sea, for the so-called “great African expedition 2024-2026”, which will carry out studies also to Cameroon, Gabon, Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Morocco, Mauritania, Nigeria and São Tome & Príncipe.

The experts will also carry out research in the waters of Eritrea, the Republic of Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mauritania, Mozambique, Oman, Senegal and Sierra Leone.

The document from the Angolan Embassy in Russia states that the expedition to the oceans that bathe the African continent is scheduled to end in 2026. VC/CF/DOJ
