Luanda – Angola has decreed the exemption and simplification of procedures for granting entry visas to 98 countries, with emphasis on Portugal, Brazil, Cape Verde, the United States, Russia and China, as part of the promotion and expansion of tourism.
In Presidential Decree No. 189/23 of September 29, the exemption of up to 90 days applies exclusively to the granting of tourist visas.
In Africa, 14 countries are covered, namely Eswatini, Morocco, Lesotho, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius and Seychelles, Cape Verde and also the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria and the United Republic of Tanzania.
In Europe, 35 countries are included, specifically Switzerland, the Russian Federation, Germany, Sweden, the Vatican State, the Czech Republic, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Hungary, the Netherlands, the Principality of Monaco, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Europe also includes Norway, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovakia, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Cyprus, Slovenia, Iceland and Italy and Portugal.
On the American continent, eight countries were selected such as the United States of America, Mexico, Argentina, Canada, Chile, Panama and Uruguay Brazil.
In Oceania, the Presidential Decree includes Australia, the Republic of Fiji, the Marshall Islands, the Solomon Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Nauru, New Zealand, the Republic of Palau, Papua New Guinea, the Independent United States of Samoa, the Kingdom of Tonga, Tuvalu, Republic of Vanuatu and Niue.
In the Caribbean and Pacific region, 16 countries were chosen, namely Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Grenada, Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Republic of Haiti, Cook Islands, Jamaica, Republic of Kiribati and Dominican Republic. Saint Lucia, the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the Republic of Suriname and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago are also part of it.
The Presidential Decree directs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to communicate to beneficiary countries about the exemption from tourist visas and the simplified process for obtaining visas.
For other types of visas, such as work, study, medical treatment or residence permit, foreign citizens must request the corresponding visa from diplomatic missions or consular posts in their country of origin or habitual residence.
The document establishes that the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Angola must guarantee simplified and unbureaucratic service, with a maximum period of three working days for granting a tourist visa. OPF/AC/TED/DOJ
