Luanda - The dynamization of the business circuit between Angola and Senegal dominated the meeting, in Dakar, Senegal, between the Angolan ambassador Adão Pinto and the National Director of Partnerships and Economic and Cultural Promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Senegal (MAESE), Ambassador Babacar Ba, ANGOP has learnt.
During the meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Senegal, the diplomats put on the agenda the holding of prospecting business meetings between businesspeople from both countries in November this year, in order to foster the foundations for the creation of the Angola-Senegal Business Forum.
According to the Angolan ambassador to Senengal, Adão Pinto, the time is now to boost intra-African trade and business relations.
“It is time to boost intra-African trade and business relations and, in this specific case, Angola and Senegal have many areas of cooperation that should be taken advantage of,” he said.
Adão Pinto went on to explain that he has maintained contacts at various levels to carry out business “rounds” that show the dynamics of cooperation between Angola and Senegal.
For his part, Ambassador Babacar Ba highlighted the fact that there are many Senegalese businesspeople interested in investing in Angola and he anticipates, in the same proportion, the promotion of Angolan businesses in Senegal.
The diplomat also indicated that his country has a particular interest in the areas of oil and gas, telecommunications, civil construction, tourism, among other segments.
More than 200 Angolans live in Senegal.
Since 2022, Angola and Senegal have had a general agreement on economic, technical, social and scientific cooperation in the fields of tourism, trade and visa exemptions for diplomatic and service passports.
