Cape Town - Thirteen Angolan companies, divided into two exhibition spots, are participating from 6 to 9 February in Cape Town, South Africa, in the International Mining Indaba Conference.
This is the biggest African mining investment conference, which this year will have the motto “Unlock the Future of African Mining”, at which Angola will be represented by diamond companies and others from the non-diamond sector.
Participating with the motto “The potential of Angolan diamond”, Angola will be displaying products from the National Diamond Company (ENDIAMA), Angola Diamond Trading Company (SODIAM), AJ SILVA Company and the mining companies Catoca Mining Society, Mining Society of Chitotolo, Yetwene Project, as well as, Furi and Kaixepa Mining Society.
Regarding innovation, the country will also be represented by Geosondas Engineering Services, Minbos Resources Limited exploration and development company, Ozango Hypermachines Minerals and Shining Star, a group of companies from the mining subsector that adopted the theme, “Angola´s mining potential”.
During the three-day event, Angola has Tuesday, February, 7 as the date dedicated for the country to showcase its services and products, with the motto “Critical minerals for energy transition”.
It will be an opportunity for Angola to share its experience, attract investment to leverage projects, identify and establish partnerships in the area of service provision, as well as promote the potential and focus of the national mining sector on sustainability and female inclusion.
During the event, the Angolan speakers will be the Chairman of the National Agency for Mineral Resources, Jacinto Rocha, on the “Angola´s Mineral Potential: The future is here”, the National Director of Mineral Resources, Paulo Tanganha on “Future Enabling Metals and Minerals” and the assistant director-general of Catoca, Paulo Mandela on “Governance and sustainable accountability frameworks - Challenges and opportunities for greater success”.
The coordinator of the Angola Diamond Potential work commission, Ana Feijó, at the launch of the event, noted the attractive business environment, tax regime and other legislation that the country offers to any potential investor.
Ana Feijó also noted the concept adopted for the 2023 edition, which is based on making costs profitable through joint participation.
The International Conference on Mining in Africa, known as the African Mining Indaba is an annual event dedicated exclusively to the capitalisation and development of minerals in Africa, happening for the last 28 years in the South African city of Cape Town, with over 6,000 participants.
