Luanda - A multi-sectoral delegation from the Angolan government will travel on Tuesday to Lagos, Nigeria, with the aim of exploring opportunities for public-private partnerships in the areas of petrochemicals, agriculture, biofertilizers, oil refining and sugar.
This visit to Nigeria follows the invitation made by the African tycoon and CEO of the business group "Dangote Industries", Aliko Dangote, last November, to the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, on the sidelines of an audience granted to him during his visit to Angola.
A note from the Embassy of Angola in Nigeria, Benin, Niger and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), informed that the minister of Industry and Commerce, Rui Miguêns, the minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Isaac dos Anjos, the secretary of State for Oil and Gas, José Barroso, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of National Fuel Company of Angola (Sonangol), Sebastião Gaspar Martins, the Chairman of the National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG), Paulino Jerónimo, and the Director General of the Petroleum by-products Regulatory Institute (IRDP) Luis Fernandes, make up the delegation.
At the end of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding is expected to be signed as the first step towards making possible the implementation of the Nigerian businessman's investments in Angola.
Aliko Dangote, wants to make official his participation in the construction of the Lobito Refinery, as part of the Lobito Corridor investments, in the direct acquisition and exploration of oil blocks in Angola's onshore and offshore, as well as in the acquisition or management of cement factories, reads the document.
He also wants to implement integrated projects linked to the production of sugar cane and its refining, in addition to opening a subsidiary of his business group in Angola to connect his investments in different segments.
