Talatona – Angola assumed, from this Friday, the rotating presidency of the Central African Energy Pool (PEAC), during the Steering Committee meeting taking place in Luanda.

Angola replaces the Democratic Republic of Congo for a renewable one-year mandate.

The PEAC is a specialized institution within the Economic Community of Central African States (EEAC) and is responsible for implementing energy policy.

It comprises 11 member states that make up the CEEAC commission and its public, private and mixed companies, producing, transporting and distributing electricity.

The event hosted by the National Electricity Transmission Network (RNT), was opened by the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, who presented ongoing sector projects that aim to improve services provided to the Angolan population and at the level of SADC. MAG/DOJ
