Uíge – Four billion and 16 million kwanzas is the amount collected in taxes, in the first half of this year, by the 2nd Tax Region, which comprises the provinces of Uíge, Cuanza-Norte and Malanje.
The institution raised more than one billion and 931 million kwanzas in comparison to the same period of the previous year (2023).
Speaking to ANGOP, Thursday, the Northern Regional Director of the General Tax Administration (AGT), Ivo Jamba, said that the revenue collected results from the payment of taxes on income, assets, customs duties and other expenses.
He explained that for this year, the institution expects to raise Kz 19 billion in net revenue, but this target may not be achieved, due to the poor adherence of taxpayers to the voluntary payment of taxes.
“We have an objective from the perspective of net revenue to raise more than 19 billion kwanzas, but in terms of implementation by the end of June we managed to raise only four billion kwanzas”, he explained.
Regarding the province of Uíge, Ivo Jamba said that during the period 663 million 295 thousand kwanzas were collected, against Kz 440 million 749 thousand.
He pointed to the non-use of the Services and Municipality portal as factors that contributed to the reduction in revenue collection in the region during the first six months of this year. NM/PBC/DOJ
