Luanda - Angolan tennis player Daniel Domingos started the African Junior Championship (U16) in the best way, to be held from the 25th to the 29th of this month, in Algiers, Algeria, by defeating a local opponent (host).
At the start of the competition, Monday, in an individual match, the player from the Kikuxi Villas Club Tennis Academy, Luanda, beat the Algerian Meghari Yacine, by two sets to zero, with partials of 6-1 and 6-2.
Guided by coach João Almeida, the national representative, in the next match, they face the Tunisian Trifi Ala, number two seed in the continental competition.
Prior to the African Championship, Daniel Domingos, who completed a preparatory training course in South Africa, managed to qualify in the Qualifying Zone, held in January, in Zimbabwe.
The mentioned event of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and African Confederation (CAT) allows the obtaining of points to the ranking of the
category.
