When opening, the acting director of the Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports Office, Adão Dala, thanked the Angolan Chess Federation (FAX) for choosing the province of Malanje and pointed out the expansion of chess at school level as one of the sector’s goals in the region.
He recognized that the sport has faced several difficulties locally, which is why he expressed the willingness of the Provincial Cabinet to overcome them and give new dynamics to sport science.
Meanwhile, the president of the board of the Provincial Chess Association, Nelson Costa, expressed concern about the fact that the championship was being coordinated by a group of former practitioners, contrary to regulations.
He called for the involvement of the sketch class in actions aimed at the massification of the sport.
It should be remembered that the 44th edition of the absolute individual national Chess championship was won by Amorim Agnelo, from the 1º de Agosto club, while the women's individual was won by Adnásia Júnior, from Macovi Sport Clube. ACC/PBC/CF/DOJ
