Luanda - The chairman of Petro de Luanda, Tomás Faria, was sworn in last Thursday night, thus reinstated for the third term at the helm of the club, taking into account the four-year period '2024-28.
Elected last March with 140 votes, Tomás Faria becomes the seventh president of the institution and the only one to serve three terms, totaling 12 years.
As target lines, he defined, among the various objectives, the focus on athletics to obtain Olympic minimums, mainly in speed events (100 and 200m).
This is a strategy aimed at qualifying the squad for the 2028 Olympic Games.
For this individual sport, Tomás Faria also hopes to break national records, in the first phase.
The reappointed president also highlighted the need for better management control, so that processes are increasingly operational.
This control, according to him, aims to prevent the club from having too many fluctuations in terms of winning titles, as well as presence in the final stages of the Champion Clubs League.
He revealed his ambition to win the African football club trophy for the first time within the next four years, taking into account the levels achieved in recent editions.
Tomas Faria will be assisted by vice-presidents Amaral Aleixo and Leonilde Paulo, in addition to board members Elisa Torres, Dilson dos Santos and Cláudia dos Santos.
There are also substitute members Filomena Trindade Freire, Renato Campos and Sidónio Malamba.
Mbiyavanga Filipe (chairman), Nama Cabral (deputy) and Ivo Faustino (member) will operate on the supervisory board. The disciplinary council will be led by José Lourenço (chairman), Telma Manuel (deputy) and Hermina Coelho (member).
The general council's secretary is António Mangueira, followed by members Manuel Vicente, Joaquim David, José de Vasconcelos, Armando Machado, Sebastião Martins and João Neto.
The assembly board is made up of Gentil Pimenta (chairtman), Eugénio de Carvalho (vice chair) and Aretha Leitão (secretary).
