Luanda - The Angolan national team beat Seychelles 3-2 today (Monday) in the second round of Group C of the COSAFA Cup football tournament in South Africa.
The goals in the Angolan team's first win in the competition were scored by Depú, twice (9' and 58'), and Maestro (78'), and for the Seychelles by Johan Gamatice (26') and Brandon Labrosse (46').
With this result from the match played at the Isaac Wolfson Stadium, the Angolan team leads series C with four points, while the Seychelles are fourth (1pt).
The two teams drew their first-round matches, with Angola drawing 0-0 with Namibia and the Seychelles drawing 1-0 with Lesotho.
Also in this group, Namibia will face Lesotho at 14h00. The group is made up of South Africa, Eswatini, Botswana and Mozambique. Group B includes Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya and the Comoros Islands.
Angola has already won the competition on three occasions, in 1999, 2001 and 2004. In the last edition, it was eliminated in the group stage.
