Cosafa Cup: Angola beats Namibia and wins its 4th title Luanda - The National Football Team won today (Sunday), its 4th Cosafa Cup title, in Porth Elizabeth, South Africa, by defeating the similar team from Namibia by 5-0, in the final game of this regional competition.
The goals of the match, played at the Nelson Mandela Stadium, were scored by Pedro, in the 12th minute, Depú (44'), from a penalty, Vidinho (58' and 68') and Keliano (70').
In the semi-finals, on Friday, the Angolan team beat the Comoros Islands 2-1, while Namibia defeated Mozambique, 4-2, on penalties, after a goalless draw in regulation time.
In the regular phase, Angola finished ahead of Group C, with seven (7) points, the same as Namibia, in second place, while the Seychelles Islands and Lesotho finished in the immediate positions, with one (1) each.
Angola has already won the competition in 1999, 2001 and 2004.
Even today, to award third place, Mozambique beat the Comoros Islands 3-2, on penalties, after a 2-2 draw in the regular period.
Angolan striker Depú was the competition's top scorer, with five (5) goals. VAB/DOJ
