Luanda – Senegal and Mozambique qualified Wednesday for the semi-finals of the COSAFA Cup in football, after beating their respective opponents in the quarter-finals match that took place in the multi-purpose Princess Magogo Stadium, in South Africa.
Both matches’ results were determined through penalty kicks, after a 1-1 draw in normal time.
The Senegalese team were the first to qualify by beating Eswatini 5-4, while the Mozambicans beat South Africa 5-4.
With the defeat, South African team are prevented from revalidating the title.
Meanwhile, for the semi-finals, on Friday Namibia and Mozambique will face each other at 4 pm, while Zambia will face Senegal at 7 pm in the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Angola are out of this competition since 10th this month, after losing 0-1 to Botswana.
