Luanda - Sport is one of the biggest factors of inclusion and social development, whose training stimulates mass development, education, improves the quality of life, as well as contributes to the country's economic development.
The statement was made by the secretary of State for Sports, Teresa Ulundo, when, this Thursday morning in Luanda, she opened a seminar as part of the commemorative days of the 23rd of January, dedicated to sport.
In front of an audience full of practitioners, leaders and guests, Teresa Ulundo stated that it is imperative that the development of sport is structured through rational principles and measures, which lead to the growing engagement of citizens in the practice of physical and sporting activities.
The former handball player, who was part of the national teams several times, recalled that, as part of the sports day, the ministry has been developing a number of training activities under the motto “United for Sports, Strengthening Health”.
In this Thursday's activity, which takes place at the Sports Gallery, in Luanda’s Cidadela Sports Complex, participants will analyse topics such as: “History about the institutionalization of the ephemeris” will be taught - speaker: Nicolau Daniel (National Director of Sports).
“Importance of physical, recreational and sporting activity” – Fernanda Menezes (Physical Education Teacher), “Sudden death of the athlete” – Joel Catumbela (CENAMED), and “Profile of the Manager in Sports Organizations in Angola” – Cardoso de Lima (Committee Angolan Olympic).
The 23rd of January commemoration was institutionalized by the Angolan Government as National Sports Day, to mark the recognition of the undeniable role that sports play in society, as a factor of integration and human development.
