Luanda - Gouveia de Sã Miranda is the new president of the board of directors of “Clube Desportivo 1° de Agosto”, elected Saturday, in Luanda, replacing Carlos Hendrick, for a 4-year term (2024-2028).
General of the Angolan Armed Forces, Sã Miranda ran for list B and beat Egas Viegas (list A) with 2,341 votes in favor against 388 for his opponent, in a total of 2,740 valid votes. 28 blank votes were recorded, 15 invalid and none claimed.
The elections, held in the club's “sports city”, were not attended by Egas Viegas, who withdrew from the race, communicating his decision via social media, without, however, officially formalizing it to the electoral commission.
In his program, the new president of 1º de Agosto has as his banner financial transparency, with accountability, and corporate governance, to guarantee the trust of members, fans, investors and other interested parties.
As part of training, he intends to develop international partnerships to explore collaboration opportunities with clubs and sports federations, with a view to strengthening the network of contacts and expanding the visibility of the club's Academy.
He also plans to carry out a detailed analysis to identify business and investment opportunities, in order to assess the feasibility of creating a sports SAD.
The electoral commission was led by the former president of 1º de Agosto and the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), Pedro Neto, Paulo Madeira (secretary) and Ngouabi Salvador (curtinador). BSV/VAB/DOJ
