Luanda - The Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcão, has called for a collective spirit among the players of the national football team ahead of the home match against Eswatini on Friday.
Speaking to the press following the national team's train, the minister said regardless of the result, it is important to leave the pitch convinced that everything has been given on the pitch for the country to win.
‘The result will depend on the efforts of each and every one of you,’ he emphasized, reiterating the call for unity on the pitch for a positive outcome.
Angolan coach Pedro Gonçalves also called for a collective spirit towards a victory.
National teams Captain Freddy expressed the group's desire to win and raise the Angolan flag once again.
Angola is fourth with two points in a group (D) led by Cameroon with four.
Cabo Verde is in second place with four points, the same as Libya in third.
Mauritius is in fifth place with just one point, while Eswatini are sixth with no points.
Angola is seeking its second qualification for the World Cup, following its 2006 appearance in Germany.
