Luanda - Angolan André Matias obtained the seventh position in the first round of the rowing event, held this Saturday, and can reach the historic quarter-final at the Olympic Games taking place in Paris (France).

The athlete, who timed seven minutes, 52 seconds and 78 hundredths, will compete on Sunday in the repechage qualifiers for the 'quarters'.

The event was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcão, who returns to the country on Sunday, after an agenda in France to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, in the field of youth and sport.

Sunday, the senior women's national handball team faces Spain, starting at 7 pm, for the second round of Group B.

In their debut, the African champions beat the Netherlands, by 31-34.

On the same day, Edmilson Pedro enters the scene in judo, in qualifiers and finals of the 66kg. MC/DOJ
