Luanda - The athletics school named "Okuhateka", conceived and led by former sprinter Ana Isabel has received a sponsorship of 50,000 euros handed over by the Government of Greece.
The symbolic check was delivered to the owner of the institution by the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikolaos Dendias.
At the ceremony, held at the Cidadela stadium Sports Gallery, Ana Isabel told ANGOP that the purchase of sports material will be the initial priority as it is one of the main problems of the organization.
The winner of the "São Silvestre" race in 2003, explained that the school operates in the city of Lubango and in 14 municipalities that make up the Huila province and extends to Cunene and Namibe provinces.
According to the owner, the body, founded in 2014, has the sponsorship of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MINJUD) and the Angolan Athletics Federation (FAA).
"Okuhateka", which in the national language N`haneca-Humbe means "Let's Run", has 8,036 children from 5 to 17 years old, in addition to 306 physical education teachers who work on a voluntary basis.
