Luanda – President João Lourenço reaffirmed this Friday, in Luanda, his satisfaction at the performance of the Angolan National Team at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON2023), happening in Côte d’Ivoire, despite their elimination in the quarter-finals.
According to the Angolan Head of State, the squad put up a good performance at the continental competition, so he encouraged Angolans in general, the National Team in particular, not to be disappointed.
“In this AFCON we did just fine, but we need to improve, learn with the mistakes”, wrote the President in his X account.
João Lourenço was reacting to the quarter-final game, played in the Félix Houphouet-Boigny stadium, which Angola lost 0-1 to Nigeria.
“Don´t be disappointed. The next one (AFCON cup) we’ll be ours, we just depend on ourselves, the MINJUD (Sports Ministry), FAF (national federation), the Sable Antelopes (name of the national squad) and all the support from Angolans”, reads the President’s message in the X Internet platform.
