Luanda - A gala named ''Tricolores de Ouro'2023'' gathered, on Sunday, in Luanda province, the basketball, soccer and women's handball players of Petro de Luanda club.
The ceremony honoured, posthumously, the former vice president of the club, Alfredo Soares, who died in May, victim of illness.
In addition to the display of the trophies the club won, the players received champion banners.
Speaking to the audience, Petro de Luanda´s chairman, Tomás Faria, considered it a crucial moment, taking into account that the club met the goals set for the current sports season.
He said that Alfredo Soares was a professional who worked hard so that the club could be the reference it is today.
Regarding football, the club won the Super Cup, for the 17th time, won the national football championship "Girabola2022-23", as well as the Angola Cup tournament.
In the current season, it won the national basketball tournament, the Angola Cup and the Super Cup, in male category.
Petro de Luanda´s female handball won the African Super Cup and the Champion Clubs Cup. WR/FN/net/MRA/jmc
