Luanda - The African Football Confederation (CAF) updated its club rankings, after the finals of the Champions League and African Confederations Cup, won by Al Ahly and Zamalek from Egypt, respectively.
The highlight goes onto the Petro de Luanda team, who continue to be the best positioned Angolan club in the ranking, occupying 8th place in the classification, with 39 points, as a result of its campaign in CAF competitions over the last five years.
As a defeated finalist in the CAF Champions League, the Esperance team from Tunis rose to 2nd place in the ranking, now with 61 points, pushing Wydad Casablanca from Morocco to the third position, with 60 points, surpassed only by the title holders Al Ahly from Egypt, who lead the classification, with 87 points.
Zamalek from Egypt, champion of the African Confederations Cup, jumped to the 5th position in the rankings, now gaining 48 points, 6 more than runners-up RS Berkane from Morocco, in 6th place.
