Luanda - Petro de Luanda women's football, basketball and handball teams were honored Sunday, in the country's capital, for their achievements in the national and African championships.
In addition to these, the event also paid tribute to the former glories of the “oil” Club (Petro's nickname), chaired by Tomás Faria, in one of the hotels in Luanda.
The event aimed to distinguish the football team, national champion and Super Cup, basketball, which was the sport with the most titles, namely the Super Cup, the National Championship and African League (BAL), while handball, national champion and of the Angola Cup.
Of the glories, highlight goes to former athletes from different sports, such as Antoninho, Renato Campos, Benjamin Avó, Maria Pedro, Filomena Trindade, Elisa Webba, Sidónio Malamba, Benjamin Romano, among others.
The meeting also brought together federative leaders and other sports associations.
Founded on January 14, 1980, Petro de Luanda is the great sporting power in Angola and one of the continental references, with an unparalleled record in the country, being known as the “Champion of Champions”.
In its historical trajectory, being a multi-sports club in the country, it can only be compared to 1º de Agosto, founded in 1077. WR/VAB/CF/DOJ
